T Cells & CAR-T
Enable high-density expansion of T cells while supporting an early-memory phenotype in serum- and xeno-free workflows.
Simplify T Cell Expansion
Vertical-Wheel® Bioreactors provide a homogeneous, low-shear environment for high-density T cell expansion and cell viability.
Maintain an early-differentiated central-memory phenotype throughout expansion, supporting desirable functional characteristics for downstream cell-therapy workflows.
Support serum- and xeno-free media within a scalable, single-use format designed for closed T cell processing.

This publication describes an automated Vertical-Wheel® Bioreactor platform for closed-system T-cell and CAR-T cell manufacturing. The system integrates in-line pH and dissolved oxygen sensors, real-time imaging, automated sampling, hollow-fiber perfusion, and data-driven process control. Studies evaluated agitation, feeding, activation, and cytokine supplementation to identify process parameters affecting expansion, viability, and memory phenotypes. Symbolic regression linked metabolites and cytokines to culture outcomes and identified predictors of stem cell memory and central memory…
This application note evaluates human T-cell expansion in a PBS-MINI Vertical-Wheel® Bioreactor using CellGenix® GMP serum-free, xeno-free medium supplemented with IL-7 and IL-15. Studies compared cell growth, viability, phenotype, and expansion performance across multiple agitation rates and seeding densities relative to G-Rex culture systems. Lower agitation rates produced the highest viable cell yields while maintaining viabilities above 85%, whereas excessive agitation reduced expansion performance. Expanded cells achieved substantial fold expansion, high cell densities, favorable CD4+…
This poster presents scalable T-cell manufacturing protocols using cGMP-compliant activation and expansion reagents in PBS-MINI MagDrive and other bioreactor platforms. Human T cells were activated through CD3/CD28/CD2 stimulation and expanded under serum-free conditions. The PBS-MINI generated high fold expansion and viability through staged scale-up. Expanded cells maintained central memory phenotypes, low exhaustion-marker expression, cytokine secretion, and cytotoxic activity. Comparisons with G-Rex and Xuri systems demonstrate that optimized protocols can support reproducible T-cell…
